Greetings From The Farm,

March came in like a lion for us with lots of rain and stormy weather. It also brought the cold back for a few days. Here at the farm, we are up early to chore and such before the ground unthaws on top for the day.
We have our greenhouse up and running full swing now. We have changed from propane to wood heat which is a little more work for us and somewhat messy but it seems so much better for the plants as they are no longer forced to endure the hot blowing heat from the furnace. It has helped the blocks to stay moister longer as well. We've planted storage onions, green onions, pearl onions, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, and spinach. The tomatoes that we started in the house will be moved to the greenhouse today to be potted on into 4" blocks. We plan to put them in the hoophouse March 15. Hopefully we'll have fresh tomatoes by the 1st of June!!
We had a stillborn lamb on Feb 19th which was really disappointing as it was the 1st offspring to be born on the farm. The other ewe that we knew was expecting lambed on March 4th and gave us a nice healthy ram. We are waiting patiently to see if we have any others that will lamb. We expect them to be done by March 15th if they are going to lamb. Hopefully, the little guy we got on Sunday will have a few playmates.
Thank you to those of you who have showed an interest in our CSA. We hope to have all the information up and running on the website by the end of the week.
Wishing everyone an early spring!! Please feel free to come and visit the farm whenever you like. We'd love to have the opportunity to show you around our place. Please call before you come so we'll know to expect you. You may stop by but we might not be here.

Growing for you, Beth
